Insects

The Insect Module provides users with the ability to search for transcription factors based on insect species information. Whether you're focused on a particular insect group or exploring genes across various species, this module helps narrow down results and offers a deeper understanding of species-specific transcription factor profiles. It's an invaluable tool for researchers interested in the genetic makeup and regulation of diverse insect taxa.

TF Family

The TF Family Module enables users to search for transcription factors by their gene family classification. This module organizes transcription factors into distinct families based on sequence similarities and functional characteristics, allowing users to explore evolutionary patterns, functional relationships, and regulatory mechanisms across different families of transcription factors in insects.

BLAST

The BLAST Module offers sequence alignment and similarity search functionality, allowing users to compare their query sequences against the insectTFDB database. By finding homologous genes or transcription factors, this tool aids in identifying conserved sequences, potential gene functions, and evolutionary relationships, making it a powerful resource for sequence-based research.

Prediction

The Prediction Module utilizes HMMER-based methods for transcription factor annotation. Researchers can submit sequences to predict the presence of transcription factors based on hidden Markov models (HMMs). This tool is particularly useful for annotating novel sequences or for functional annotation of insect genomes, providing reliable predictions for transcription factor identification and classification.
